The Deakin Law Clinic is a community legal service that provides legal placements for advanced students of Deakin Law School. The Venture Law Clinic offers free legal advice and assistance to those who are disadvantaged in their access to justice.  The Venture Law service includes advice and information for early stage start-ups and entrepreneurs.

What can I get help with?

The Venture Law practice provides advice and information in relation to the following areas of law:

  • Business structuring, registrations and company incorporation
  • Intellectual property – trade mark clearance, copyright issues
  • Contractual documentation – terms & conditions, customer contracts
  • Privacy policies
  • Verifying pitch decks
  • Employment agreements

Who is eligible?

Deakin Law Clinic offers a priority service to SPARK Deakin affiliated founders and startups (those who have participated in the accelerator, Startup Ideation, and mentoring). Priority is also given to early-stage startups and ventures who are disadvantaged and are experiencing financial difficulty.
